Hot Sauce Makes History at Bell Bank Park
Mesa - AZ Hot Sauce Lacrosse made history as the first boys lacrosse team to play at Bell Bank Park. The cutting-edge, 320-acre multi-sports complex hosted a community open house on January 4 to introduce members of the local community to the complex, which is now the largest entertainment complex in North America.
As the "house" boys lacrosse program for Legacy Sports USA, AZ Hot Sauce will enjoy VIP access to Bell Bank Park, which boasts 35 fields, including eight dedicated lacrosse fields. The team was hosting its first practice as it gears up for the Phoenix Rise tournament, which will be hosted at Bell Bank Park on January 22-23.
"You guys are making history," program director Dan Lannon told the assembled players, who ranged from fourth grade through high school. "Years from now, you could be back here as a coach or a parent watching your own kids playing lacrosse and tell them that you were the first one to play on these fields."
Hot Sauce will continue to host practices at Bell Bank Park before concluding its 2021-2022 campaign at the Phoenix Rise tournament. Preparations for the 2022-2023 season begin with Evaluation Camps for both youth and high school players in February.
