AZ Hot Sauce Lacrosse Coach Kelly Howell Faces First Test as Head Coach of NAU Lumberjacks, Oct 29
AZ Hot Sauce Coaches Kelly Howell and Frank Ferrantelli will face their first tests at the helm of the Northern Arizona University men’s lacrosse team on October 29 in a pre-season matchup against Arizona Christian University.

Howell was hired as head coach of the NAU program in July, and his first action was to bring aboard Ferrantelli as his defensive coordinator. The duo has served in the same roles for the varsity AZ Hot Sauce Lacrosse teams for the past several years.
“I’m extremely excited for this opportunity,” said Howell. “I’m fortunate to be walking into a great organization that has a good track record of competing at a high level.”
On October 29th, Howell will face his first test as the Lumberjacks face off against the ACU Firestorm in a pre-season match. The game will also be ACU’s debut outing under inaugural head coach Jake Landon. In the spring, both teams will compete in the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association’s Southwestern Lacrosse Conference, division II.
For his part, Howell has his eyes on the prize. “The players there are high quality men with great character and a lot of passion to learn and grow. I’m looking forward to taking the program to the next level and winning a championship.”

The matchup will take place on Saturday, October 29, at 11:00 am on the ACU campus in Glendale, AZ.
In November, NAU will also host a “Prospect Day” for players who would like to be considered for the Lumberjacks. Further information and registration is available at https://www.naulax.com/prospect-day.
