AZ Hot Sauce Gearing Up for Fall Events

After an action-packed, successful summer tournament season, AZ Hot Sauce Lacrosse is gearing up for another round of action this fall.

On September 5, Hot Sauce will begin a four-week 'house league' for players grade 2 through 8. The games will be 6v6, based on the new “Olympic Sixes” format:

  • Full pads

  • Tennis/soft balls

  • 3x3 goals

  • Short sticks only

  • 4x10-minute quarters

Divisions will be age-based, and teams will be balanced by talent and experience as much as possible. Every session will include some instruction, but the emphasis will be on game play!

The league will run for four weeks: September 5th, September 12th, September 19th, and October 10th. The house league is open to players grade 2 to 8. Fees are $125. Every player will receive a league pinnie (uniform) and expert instruction throughout.

On September 10, Hot Sauce will also be hosting tryouts for its fall tournament teams. Open to players in grades 5 through 12, our competitive travel programs are a great way to get expert instruction, make new friends, and go head-to-head with some of the best lacrosse teams in the west.

At the tryouts, players will be evaluated by our coaching staff on the basis of their individual skill, athleticism, and attitude, as well as their "lax IQ" and teamwork skills. Based on this evaluation, players will be invited to one of our teams. (Note - returning players from our summer tournament teams do not need to attend tryouts!)

We intend to take at least four competitive teams to the following tournaments:

  • November 11-12 Legends Autumn Tilt (Oceanside, CA)

  • December 2-3 Adrenaline Blackjack Classic (Las Vegas, NV)

  • January 20-21 Phoenix Rise (Mesa, AZ) *tentative*

Practices will be Sundays, 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm, and Wednesdays, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, beginning October 11. Most practices will be in Tempe or Chandler, depending on field availability.

Registration is required - visit https://www.azhotsaucelax.com/tryouts.
